SELLING AT THE ESTATE CENTER, LLC

Our auctions include a wide variety of antiques and collectibles from numerous historical eras consigned primarily from estates and private collections.  We hold a 1 to 2 day auction every 4 to 6 weeks with an average of between 500-1500 lot (items).  Our sales include 18th and 19th century American and European furniture, as well as, retro furniture, pottery, paintings, books, silver, jewelry, advertising memorabilia, oriental rugs, various dinnerware, glass, dolls, tools, and a wide range of decorative objects.  We have sold a number of important collections of pottery, coins, dolls, Southern furniture, books, silver, and advertising.   Our sales are well advertised through our monthly detailed website update, providing over 200 color photographs and a complete inventory listing and email notification of the sale.

From the seller’s perspective, advertising an auction is desirable because it potentially attracts a greater number of bidders.  If more bidders attend the auction a higher price might ultimately be achieved because of heightened competition from bidders.

If you have single objects, an entire collection, or an estate you are considering selling, please contact us. We would be very pleased to work with you.

HOW TO CONSIGN AN ITEM OR ITEMS

A good way to begin is to call us to discuss your property, or make an appointment to bring it in and have it evaluated.  Often we will ask for detailed photos to best determine if we are the ideal venue from which to market your items.  We have built a very strong, distinct market over the years and we accept items based on how well they fit our market.  Condition and particular market trends are also important considerations.

Items consigned are inventoried at the time of pick up on a consignment agreement, a copy of which is given to the consignor.  All consigned property is insured by our policy as soon as we take possession.  Sellers are paid within 30 days after the auction in which their property is sold and an itemized listing for each item sold is provided.

Please note, often in the course of tagging a sale, many items are placed together in a “box lot” (often these items will bring more sold together than individually) and are then reflected on the itemized sale list as a box lot.  Because of advertising deadlines and because our sales are put together to offer the best variety to our buyer and maximizing attendance at each auction your consignment could be 30-60 days out before it is sold.  Perhaps the Consignment Division of the Estate Center might be your  best option.

Please contact us for more information on our deadlines or how your items might best be marketed.
